During an internship, I worked with the product manager to design the next version of the Tampa Bay Area AI recruitment platform, HireHumanly (previously called GIYG) .
Jim Schimpf, the founder and CEO of HireHumanly, and I knew each other for about a year before I interned at HireHumanly the summer of 2017. I was hired by Jim as a freelance web developer per the recommendation of someone who was familiar with my previous work. I asked if I would be able to intern in order to gain some experience working at a tech startup. At the time, they only had one other employee besides the founder, so my internship was not making coffee runs, but instead was an extension of my existing responsibilities—and I worked in their office.
